All of a sudden there seems to be a raft of new cycle navigators in the market, and over the coming months I’m sure we are going to start seeing more and more of these cycle navigators on the road. The main premise of these navigators is to allow riders to quickly get updates on the direction they need to be riding in. These updates are delivered by simple LED lighting on a small device which sits on the handle bars. Up until now, in order to navigate a route, cyclists have relied on looking down at a GPS or Smartphone device to ascertain the route they need to take, therefore compromising their safety, by having their eyes off the road for too long.
At present their are two main players in this space, namely, Hammerhead and SmartHalo. Both these products deliver a very similar value proposition. They both pair with your smartphone in order to sync with the GPS and deliver the correct signals accordingly. Have a look at their respective product videos below and decide for yourself which one you prefer.
